Nishima Island
From BRRP
Nishima Island, affectionately refered to as Neko Island by comm members, is the home (and now, the final resting place 83) of the V10 class. Located in Kagoshima Prefecture, on the south west coast of Kyushu Island (this is "the mainland" to the V10 kids), Nishima is ten square miles, three miles across, and has a population of 750. The town itself is called Majima.
On this page, you can find all the necessary info about the V10 class's hometown.

Island Life
BLAH BLAH BLAH
Houses
As you can see, most of the class lives somewhere within the C7 and E4 zones.
Community
School - Combination elementary school, junior high and high school. Also comes with a swimming pool and combination football/soccer pitch and track. A lot of equipment will still be there.
Shinto Shrine - Located at the top of the tallest hill on the island. Fairly small in size. Think something like this.
Ferry Dock - Big enough for one ferry - empty of supplies and mostly empty of equipment. It will be empty of boats as soon as the last student leaves.
Fishing Port - A smaller dock a little farther along the coast. This one is big enough for two or three fishing boats - there is one here, but it's been sunk. It's useless.
Cemetary - A Japanese-style cemetary in an abandoned area. Looks like this.
Lighthouse - Obviously abandoned, but in working order. It was run by Mr. Kuroki.
Farm - The animals are all still accounted for. Chickens, milk cows and a few sheep. The tractor has had its fuel pipes cut - it won't run.
Park - A pretty little park next to the lake, with a few fruit trees, flower beds, decorative plants.
Cave - Somewhere near the top of the hill. Dank, damp and abandoned.
Marketplace - Vendors travel regularly to this market square to sell their goods. Some stalls are permanently fixed and thus will still be there, but they will be empty - metal shells and wooden shelves are all that remains of a formerly bustling square.
Doctor's Surgery - The only one on the island. All of the medical equipment and supplies have been removed with the exception of the larger things such as machinery and beds. The machinery will all be out of order as there is no electricity to power it.
Emergency Helipad - Deserted. Well kept and clean, but obviously not used often. Placed on slightly elevated land next to the clinic.
Police Station - Kouban in Japanese, this is closer to a 'police box' than a station. This is a good example - a small building, only one or two rooms, large enough generally for one or two staff members. Cleared out. Only the furniture remains.
Fire Station - Another small building, one storey, with a garage, office and equipment storage. All of the equipment and the one small truck will still be there, but none of it will be operational - the equipment non-functional, the battery of the fire engine removed.
Bar - Not the only one, but the largest on the island - far enough away from the residential areas to keep people from being disturbed by the noise. There will be some alcohol in evidence, but not an excessive amount. Probably enough for your character to get drunk off their ass if they're that stupid, mind you.
Kid's Play Park - Small, consisting of a sand box, climbing frame, swings and see-saw. None of them have been removed, they all work. Have fun!
Beach - Pristine, consisting of a mile or two of a mixture of sand and pebble beach areas, with the occasional rocky outcropping. Highly posionous jellyfish have been known to wash up on shore, but fatalaties are currently at zero.
Boathouse - Remnants of a small business, this place contains about four or five pedal boats and punts. The boats have all had holes shot through them by the military - if you plugged them up, you could probably sail the lake on them, but they're too heavy to be carried by few than four or five students.
These are locations - shops, hangouts, etc - that aren't on the official map.
The River - On the right side of the map. This one is larger than the other three and is used as a meeting place and hangout by local kids.
Arts and Crafts Shop - Sells art supplies. Yuki works here on weekends. Location is ??? Possibly in the Marketplace.
FamilyMart - Convenience store (sells snacks, newspapers/magazines, condoms, lottery tickets, etc). Chie works here on weekends; so does Masaru. Near the top of D6.
Kichida Candy - A small candy store owned by Yori's parents. Yori works there whenever she feels like it. Located in the marketplace.
Area Control Center - Small building surrounded by a chain link fence, located at the bottom of B6. Katsue's father works here. Responsible for communicating with aircraft en route.
Bookstore - Located ??? Koshirou's father runs this. It specializes in historical books.
The Ferry
Nishima is located between 30 and 40 miles off the mainland, which means that residents must take the ferry to travel between Kyushu and Nishima. The trip takes about an hour, including docking time. The ferry runs at specific times during the day - if you miss the ferry, TOO BAD. You'll just have to wait for the next trip. Kids traveling to the mainland on the weekends need to take care to catch the last ferry home or they'll be stuck on the mainland overnight.
The ferry is primarily to ship passengers back and forth, but it can also transport cars.
The School
Facilities
Elementary school, junior high and high school students all attend school at the same building, Majima Gakuin. Elementary school students attend classes on the first floor of the building, which also houses the nurse's office, headteacher/principal's office, small indoor gym, and swimming pool. Junior high school students attend classes on the second floor, and high school students attend classes on the third floor. Each floor has their own respective (tiny) teacher's lounge and small computer lab.
Outside of the building there is a combined track and soccer field.
