RP Specific Rules 1. One character per person (Go claim at the Claim’s Post) It’s preferable you make a separate journal for your character, but you don’t have to. Please have an icon of your character though. Even though you are able to make your own NPCs in br_roleplay_2, you don’t have any more right to use them than anyone else. 2. No stupid or repetitive killings. It ruins an RPG when there is one player who kills someone almost every entry, especially if every kill sounds the same. Obviously, you are allowed to get kills, we don’t want to restrict that, but there isn’t enough room in an RPG with someone who kills as many as Kiriyama did. 3. Try to put description and thoughts into your entries. Just a long list of events won’t be interesting. Especially if you don’t use punctuation… 4. Keep in mind the character’s personality. Don’t write them in one way, and then change very quickly. It’s hard to follow, unrealistic and makes it virtually impossible for other characters to interact with you. 5. Remember that you will (as a person) have superior knowledge to your character, for example, who is killing, who has what weapon etc. Don’t use this knowledge to your advantage. If you are obviously doing this, then it ruins the RPG. Your character will also only be aware of deaths which they have seen or heard announced on the reports. 6. Another thing to point out is the time limit. There is a set time stated at the beginning of the game, though the mods may extend it at their discretion. This time is kept by the sensei posts, but you have a space of six game hours to do what you will.. Your character is aware that inevitably, they will all die unless one person survives. So it’s not like just sitting around will solve the problem. If your characters are trying to escape, they’ll need to actually have a plan. 7. The title of your posts must contain your character’s name and your location (Zone). You can also put a chapter title, but this is optional. Keep track of danger zones, as if you post that you’re in one, you will die! Danger zones are announced by Sensei. Everyone in the danger zone should get out (and it’s up to you if you get out in time!) Any character who isn’t in a danger zone will die if they go in. 8. Your character is a kid, not a superhero. They won’t be able to see people on the other side of the island, communicate telepathically or dodge bullets. Nothing like that. Be realistic. 9. You do not get to decide what weapon you get. Characters in br_roleplay will get the same weapon they did in whichever canon we are using (characters whose weapon is never revealed will get random weapons) All characters in br_roleplay_2 get randomly assigned weapons. 10. Suicide is allowed. If you decide your character will commit suicide (for whatever reason) then post the suicide. Once you have posted a suicide, you can’t change your mind, so be sure before you post. 13. There are two types of characters: PCs (Played Characters) and NPCs (Non-Played Characters). You will be able to write about NPCs and interact with them as you like, as long as they stay in character! If you want to kill a NPC, then all you have to do is write it. However, if people feel you are just wasting characters, then you could be asked to stop killing so much, and in extreme circumstances, characters that have been killed may be ‘reset’ to as if they had only just left the school. IMPORTANT. Each PC is only allowed the use of one NPC, so as to make it fair for everyone. 14. Interaction is also allowed (and encouraged!) with other PCs. If your character is going to ’team up’ or be with another character for a long time, then discuss with the other player about storyline to make sure everyone knows what’s happening. You are allowed to control PCs to a certain extent. Only as long as their actions are accurate to what they would have done based on what we’ve already read, and as long as you don't make major decisions for them. People can take PC control into account during votes, so it's best to keep it to a minimum. If you control a PC, and the player complains about how you did, you are required to change your post. For killing another human player, the voting system will be used. 14: THIS IS IMPORTANT. Pay attention to which canon source we're using for the version. This will always be announced before things happen. If we're playing Movie, remember that the "game show" aspect is completely non-existent. Same with the Novel. If your character acts one way in the movie and another in the book, remember that (A good example would be Fumiyo. In the novel and manga, she was nice and such, but in the movie she was in the group that locked Noriko in the bathroom). It's okay to use other sources, AS LONG AS THEY DON'T CONTRADICT. Note: If you write your first post before the sensei's post goes up, please leave out the classroom scene. Whichever moderator is playing the teacher will write the classroom scene, and if you write yours before hand, then your post will probably not make sense XD |
