So...you're new to the whole Battle Royale thing. You might have had a friend say "Hey, wanna join this RPG? You'll love it!" and yet, you have no idea what the deal is, and why you're even around. I mean...collars, danger zones, psychotic teachers? Where does one start!?

Let's start with the political climate of Japan. Basically, in this AU (alternate universe) Japan won World War II, and became an isolationist and fascist society. Freedom is something people don't know about, and trust? Well, there's none of that. Things like Western music and such is outlawed, and the penalty for rebellion is harsh. Death. So it's not cool to be against the government. Most people have lost hope, and just continue on their daily lives.

So what does the actual Battle Royale program have to do with anything? Well, it's a program sponsored by the government to punish the students who don't go to school. Okay...so now you're saying "That makes...no sense. At all." And you're right. It doesn't. But the program is there to make the masses stop trusting. See, if they see that best school friends can't trust each other with their lives, who could they trust to defy the government? So yeah. Every year (according to the movie) or every month or so (according to the book/manga) a class is randomly picked out and forced to kill until one person is left.

During Battle Royale there are two main things to remember. Number one is the collars. Every student is fitted with an electronic collar that monitors heart rate and location, as well as what is being said (But your character doesn't know that!). Collars keep the students from escaping, and from entering "danger zones." ...Speaking of, those are the second most important things to remember. Danger zones are areas on the map that will make the students collar explode. Don't go there. Steer clear of the water, too. There are boats patrolling the coastline and even if by some chance the collar didn't explode, the boat would catch them.

Also, your character probably won't know too much about Battle Royale. All students know of it's existence, but in general, it's perceived as almost myth-like.

Next, we have the weapons. Upon leaving the school (which becomes a danger zone immediately after the students all leave), everyone is given a bag with a weapon, some water, a loaf of bread, as well as a compass and a map. The weapons will be randomly generated for Original Character RPs, and for canon RP's, they will be what the student was given there.

And finally, every ten days or two weeks, the mod who is playing the teacher will read off new danger zones and will relay the list of those killed...so be ready for those! (They happen every 6 hours, IC time).

There you go. All you need to know!
